I’m drawn to complex topics.

I’ve worked on videos to educate people about climate change, about business best practices, to raise money, and to capture unique events. I’ve done deep dives into subjects ranging from corporate business processes to how to support victims of domestic violence.

I’ve been a documentary film producer, a marketing communications manager, a writer for sales manuals… and a PTA president.

Sometimes my research is data-focused – poring through spec sheets or academic papers. Other times my research is more experiential, like interviewing stakeholders.

Why do I love visual storytelling?

Because no other media has the emotional impact and ability to change people.

I have decades of experience using visual stories to communicate complex ideas. I like to learn, particularly about concrete things. I am fascinated by how we as humans learn to understand our world, and how we innovate to make it better, and I relish sharing those stories.

I have an undergraduate degree from Yale and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Rochester.

As a writer Kate has a strong sense of what makes a story accessible. As an editor she never failed to significantly improve the quality of anything that came before her, whether video or text.
